Honestly, I had been meaning to write a blog on undergarments forever ago. I am always on the hunt for the right undergarments because it’s one of the my biggest pet peeves to see panty lines or bra straps, lol. Plus, I always get asked what I wear under dresses and tops, so this can be your guide to refer back to. I hope it helps.
First things first. The number one, most important undergarment to have is a high quality nude strapless bra. I am sharing pretty affordable undergarments but this is one item I splurge on. It’s worth every penny.
These two are my favorite strapless bra’s:
Body by Victoria Strapless Bra– this bra is seamless and can be worn 5 ways, although if I am being honest, I mostly wear it strapless. You can choose from 4 shades.
Sexy Illusions Strapless Bra– this is very similar to the one above (can also be worn 5 ways) but comes in even more skin tones/shades. The reason I shared it second is that it isn’t seamless. You’ll see, when you follow the link. I will say though that I wear this bra (in nude) with the straps under white tees and it is the most comfortable bra that I own. Hands down.
So, if you are trying to decipher between the two, Body by Victoria is my go-to bra for dresses and tops where I don’t want to see straps. And Sexy Illusions is my every day nude bra -ultimate comfort under a white tee, etc.
Okay, lets talk about slip shorts next.
I never wear a dress, romper, skirt, etc, without shorts underneath. I have been in enough wind gust situations, lol, that I am just not comfortable wearing any kind of dress without. Not to mention I never want to be caught in a see-through situation either.
These slip shorts from Amazon are the best ones I’ve found for a couple reasons. #1. They are the right length. With slip shorts in the past I’ve found them to be too long (poking out under my shorter dresses). #2. They are spandex so not only do they smooth but there are zero panty lines! They come in sets of all black, all white, or nude, white and black (which is what I have). Shop them here!
Next up. Sticky boobs.
This is where I try to spend less because sticky bras are only a few times use. At least that’s what I have found (max 3 times). There are three types I have worn, invisible push up pasties, self adhesive and sometimes (depending on the structure of the dress) nipple covers.
So, just let me explain.
The push up pasties work great in a dress that has more coverage in the front with an open back. The self adhesive sticky bra works well in a fitted tank top (like a tube top for instance) where you don’t want to see straps. I will warn you if it’s a hot day and you are sweating, there could be a mishap, lol.
And nipple covers, they are great for a dress that is very structured. One that provides support, you just need extra coverage around the nipple. I couldn’t find the nipple covers online to link but I get them the same place I find all my sticky bras. Like I said, I don’t like to spend much because they only last a couple uses.
Last but not least, fashion tape.
This is double-sided tape that I use for tops that gape open when I lean down (like a cowl neck). I am all about not flashing people, lol, but still being able to wear cute things.
