If there is one thing I have learned this past year, it’s to be “me” and to do it without apology. When I address being myself I am talking about so much more than meets the eye.
What meets the eye is unique to the individual and your relationship with them.
I know without a doubt that my family knows a different “Emmarie” than my church family. Just the same way my clients at work know a different version than my followers on social media. And I have been described in so many ways: good and bad. In the past I let only what I perceived as weakness define me.
Quiet. Introvert. Timid.
Persistent. Determined. Reserved.
Hesitant. Doubtful. Dreamer.
The truth is genuinely being “myself” is recognizing all the weak and strong versions that make up who I am. But most importantly allowing my weaknesses to MOTIVATE me to better myself and to focus on developing my strengths further.
And I don’t want to stop there!
I want to transform my greatest weakness into my strongest asset.
With the knowledge that these words don’t define me. I ultimately am who I decide to be. Not others.
Be you. Unapologetically!
And can I dare say, don’t settle for the mediocre version. Love ALL the components of you and transform into the best version you can dream of. If you can dream it, you can do it! And you can do it by taking the action.
Don’t wait for tomorrow. Start today. XO, Emmarie.
P.S. This post is dedicated to my dad. Proudly a logger’s daughter ♥
